About
Ana has worked for Priory in different capacities since 2017 and was appointed as a therapist in early 2021. Since then, Ana has been an integral part of the inpatient group programme, delivering mixed diagnosis cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) groups and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) informed skills groups. Ana is part of the DBT team at Priory Hospital Altrincham, acting as a co-facilitator on one of the day care DBT skills group programme.
Ana is registered and accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and enjoys working with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Training
Ana is committed to personal development through experiential learning and skills acquisition and practice, in order to provide a high standard of care to our service users. Ana attends regular specialised training, to maintain a most up to date skillset and enhance her knowledge.
Ana has a special interest in emotional integration and trauma processing. Therefore, she has trained in DBT and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). She also has an interest in neurodiversity and has completed specialised training in adapting CBT for people with neurodiverse presentations.
Research Interests
Ana has volunteered for various research roles focused on topics, such as trauma informed research, victim blaming, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), autism, loneliness and para-suicide.
Following this, Ana has delivered internal psycho-educational training on ‘understanding and management skills for self-injury’.
Ana has completed her BSc and MSc theses on the general population attitudes towards male survivors of sexual trauma from an ethno-cultural perspective.
