About
Charlie is a psychotherapist who has previously worked in the NHS as a psychotherapist or ‘psychological therapist’, since 1997. He has worked with complex cases such as psychosis, anxiety disorders, trauma, and so-called personality disorders. He has also provided clinical supervision to other therapists and psychologists.
Charlie’s initial training was a PG dip, in cognitive therapy at The Salford Cognitive Therapy Training Centre (part of The University of Manchester). He was also a clinical tutor at this centre a few years later. He then went on to complete a PG dip in advanced cognitive therapy studies at The Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, (which is regarded internationally as a centre of excellence for cognitive therapy training and research).
He is accredited by The British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapists, therefore has to meet certain standards of continuing professional development and training. Charlie is also an advanced schema therapist, certified by The International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) and he is a practising eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, and is fully accredited by EMDR UK.

Charlie is a sessional therapist and has held this position at Altrincham since 2008.
