About
Christos Papalekas joined Priory in 2009. Since then he has been treating hundreds of patients with a variety of disorders. He has been providing individual and group therapy as well as clinical supervision.
Group therapies include anxiety disorders groups (obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), panic and phobia groups), depression groups, assertiveness groups, cognitive behavioural therapy for mixed diagnosis using psychodrama techniques, and mindfulness groups.
He has been presenting to conferences, workshops and training events throughout the years and is one of the lead trauma therapists at Priory Hospital Hayes Grove. Christos has been running his own private practise alongside his other responsibilities.
Training
Christos graduated from the University of Teesside with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Counselling. He also gained a Diploma in Counselling from Edexcel Institute then completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from University of West London. Christos completed his Masters in Social Psychology from University of London as well as his Masters in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from the same university.
He was trained in EMDR therapy for three years and finished his professional training in 2012. He was also trained in psychodrama therapy where he was granted a certificate from the London Institute of Psychodrama. Christos has been trained extensively with world experts in ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).

Research Interests
Christos is very interested in research around neuroplasticity and the effects of mindfulness to the brain, as well as about the clinical co-existence of EMDR and CBT.
