About
Clarissa is a psychotherapist, specialising in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She joined Priory in May 2024 as a CBT therapist, offering both face-to-face and online therapy at Priory Wellbeing Centre Oxford.
As well as pure CBT, Clarissa incorporates techniques from other third-wave cognitive behavioural approaches, such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), behavioural activation (BA) for depression, functional analytical psychotherapy (FAP) and mindfulness interventions.
Clarissa aims to provide a warm, accepting and supportive space for individuals to feel safe and explore their challenges. She particularly enjoys working with anxiety disorders and individuals who are on the autism spectrum.
Clarissa is a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and is currently working towards her professional accreditation.
Clarissa is also a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS).
Training
Clarissa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Oxford Brookes University in 2019. She later obtained a level 2 Diploma in Counselling, Skills Training in Functional Analytical Psychotherapy and a Masters Degree (MSc) in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths University in London.
As part of her commitment to updated evidence-based practice, Clarissa has attended various continuous professional development (CPD) workshops in ACT, Schema Therapy Skills, Functional Analytical Psychotherapy Skills as well as CBT CPD events and courses.
