About
David is a qualified clinical psychologist. He has been trained in a broad range of psychological models, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). He adopts an integrative approach, tailoring treatment to the needs of each individual he works with. He is empathic and committed to providing the best quality care to the people he supports.
He has worked with people across all age groups and in a range of different settings, including inpatient, outpatient and forensic settings. He has experience working with individuals with mild to severe mental health difficulties (such as mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, dissociative disorders, personality disorders and psychosis), relational issues and difficulties coping.
Training
David completed his foundational training in South Africa in 2020.
He completed a Degree in Psychology followed by a postgraduate Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychology. After this, he completed a 3-year Master’s Degree (Doctoral Equivalent) in Clinical Psychology and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist. He has been trained in a broad range of psychological approaches, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, DBT and CBT.
Research interests
David is currently completing his PhD. His research focuses on the evaluation of psychological assessments, use of psychological assessments across different cultural contexts, and alexithymia.
