About
Dr Angie Stevens has worked within Priory since January 2018, initially one day a week at the Canterbury Wellbeing Clinic but then also at the Hayes Grove and Fenchurch Street sites, once she retired from the NHS in August 2018. Dr Stevens works as a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist clinically but also works for the Priory as an Appraiser of her fellow consultant psychiatrists.
Prior to Dr Angie Stevens early retirement from the NHS in August 2018, she worked within Kent and Medway as a CAMHS Consultant for 11 years. For three of those years she was the Clinical Director of Kent and Medway CAMHS, being involved in the strategic planning and development of the service under the auspices of the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Stevens was fortunate to complete both her general psychiatry and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at the Maudsley Hospital in London.
Prior to entering medicine Dr Stevens worked as a post-doctoral research associate within tropical medicine for several years having completed a degree and doctorate in Microbiology.

- Dr Stevens is ADOS trained and has also completed Mindfulness training.
Research interests
- Dr Stevens spent 2 years taking part in research in VCFS at the Institute of Psychiatry, London.
- She also has a PhD in Microbiology after which she spent 3 years working as a post-doctoral research associate at the London School Hygiene and Tropical Medicine/Charing Cross Hospital (joint appointment) working on mono-clonal antibodies for tropical diseases.
