About
Dr Catherine Rowlands (MBBS, BA, MRCPsych, DLM) is a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist. Trained at the prestigious Barts and The London Medical School, Dr Rowlands specialised in child psychiatry and has worked in inpatient and outpatient mental health services.
Dr Rowlands has comprehensive experience in the assessment and management of young people with a wide range of mental health difficulties, and has a particular interest in those with anxiety, depression and neurodiversity.
Position at Priory
Dr Rowlands has worked at Priory in a variety of inpatient and outpatient roles since 2016. She is the clinical lead for child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) at Priory Hospital Chelmsford.
Training
Dr Rowlands’ clinical expertise is underpinned by an exceptional academic background. Following a BA in Biological Anthropology at the University of Cambridge, Dr Rowlands undertook her medical training at the Barts and The London Medical School in London. She has completed a postgraduate diploma in Legal Medicine and a postgraduate certificate in Leadership in the Healthcare Environment. She has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2013 and in the same year, she was awarded the Quality Improvement Project of the Year at the East of England Deanery Celebration of Success Awards.
