About
Dr John Moulder-Brown provides individual and group therapy at Priory Hospital North London. He facilitates the mindfulness and understanding anger groups, with both inpatients and outpatients. In his one-to-one work, John uses intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP). Painful and traumatic life events can trigger strong feelings that are anxiety provoking and, therefore, may lead to unconscious defence mechanisms (or coping behaviours). In ISTDP, the patient and therapist work together to identify any processes that may block feelings and have a negative effect on the patient’s life. Then the emotional driving forces can be understood, worked through and healed to reduce anxiety, depression, and a wide range of mental health and interpersonal problems.
