Dr Nadim Ahmad is an HCPC registered Senior Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years’ experience working in various fields of mental health. With a strong theoretical background and a doctoral thesis in parenting and attachment security, Dr Ahmad has a highly developed interest in the impacts of varying factors of childhood development in later behavioural and emotional outcomes. He has specialised in working with complex presentations including developmental trauma, disrupted attachment and pervasive trauma histories (including PTSD).
Dr Ahmad is trained in a number of different therapeutic modalities; including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness based stress reduction, trauma focused CBT, and video interaction guidance amongst others. In working with children, young people and families, he is most driven to listen carefully to the person he is working with and take into account their needs and goals in order to find an approach that works best for those individuals or families in question.
