About
Matt is an addiction therapist at Priory Hospital Woking, where he is part of the addiction treatment programme team working with patients to begin a new life of sobriety. Matt facilitates group therapy sessions and leads addiction recovery workshops and psychoeducation sessions.
Matt trained as an integrative-relational therapist, who draws on a multitude of approaches in his work with patients, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, person-centred therapy (PCT) and psychodynamic therapy. Matt is currently completing year 2 of the 3-year somatic experiencing training to enhance his skillset and work with trauma from the perspective of the felt-sense and with patients in a trauma-informed manner.
Position at Priory
Matt joined the addiction treatment programme team at Priory Hospital Woking in December 2022, having previously worked as an addiction therapist for 18 months at a UKAT addiction treatment facility. Matt is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and holds advanced practitioner status with Addiction Professionals and is a somatic experiencing advanced trainee.
