About
Melissa is a senior cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) therapist based in the adult mental health service at Priory Hospital Altrincham. Melissa has experience in treating a wide range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Melissa has worked at Priory for the past eight years and always takes a supportive, warm and compassionate approach to helping individuals with their problems and supporting them through their recovery process.
Melissa has a Masters Degree in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from The University of Salford (2018) and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from The University of Liverpool (2012). She is an accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP).
Melissa is currently working on a three-month secondment as acting therapy service manager and therefore divides her time between her clinical work and the operational running of the service.
Training
- In 2012, Melissa qualified from the University of Liverpool with B/Sc in Psychology and following this she has both worked and volunteered in a number of different Mental Health Settings; in the UK and abroad.
- In 2015, Melissa returned to The University of Salford, and subsequently completed a M/Sc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.
- Melissa also holds a level 1 qualification in British Sign Language.
