About
Rashida is an experienced therapist who has worked in a variety of mental health settings for the last 20 years, providing a wide range of therapies to adults.
Working in these settings has enabled Rashida to develop her therapeutic practice, and she has accredited status in counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), predominantly but not exclusively used for trauma. Rashida also has training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for pain and trauma.
Rashida has experience in working with a wide range of difficulties, including depression, low self-esteem, anxiety disorders (such as phobias, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, health anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)), trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, loss and change, stress related issues, pain related conditions and fibromyalgia.
Her therapy approach is both structured CBT and integrative, and all work is driven by individual and personalised formulation. This is drawn from CBT, compassion focused therapy (CFT), ACT and mindfulness approaches.
