About
Sharon McGinley is an accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, and Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA) qualified supervisor. She has worked in the NHS for over 5 years, has her own private practice along with working as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist at Priory. She works with clients who are presenting with low mood, depression, low self-esteem, phobias, anxiety disorders and alcohol addiction.
She previously worked as an alcohol counsellor using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), where she assisted clients non-judgementally and compassionately, to develop healthier coping styles and a more contented life.
She works on the principles that understanding, kindness and compassion assists with movement to change and it takes courage and honesty to open up and address your concerns and your fears. She will support, listen and work collaboratively with you to empower you to take small steps on your road to better mental health in the now.
“Hope and fear cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Invite one to stay” – Maya Angelou
