Zaheen is passionate about the field of substance abuse, rehabilitation and mental health. Zaheen’s professional journey started in 2009 when he started with 12-step rehab.

Zaheen has substantial experience of working with addicts in various settings. He worked at Change Grow Live (CGL) at Southend on Sea, Essex, as well as within the prison service as a substance counsellor with Forward Trust. During his tenure at Forward Trust as an addiction counsellor with adult prisoners, he ran motivational enhancement therapy sessions, group therapy, step groups and relapse prevention, all as part of a 12-step treatment programme.

Zaheen has not only worked in the field of addiction; he also worked for Mind as project co-ordinator for counselling services. He managed therapists and ran a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) service there, while offering therapy and conducting mental trainings for organisations.

Zaheen started working for Priory Hospital North London as a senior therapist and, since 2020, as the addiction treatment programme lead.

His education covers mental health; he has a Masters in Clinical Psychology, a Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling working with addiction, and a QCF/NVQ in Health and Social Care. He has had a lot of training in trauma work, PTSD, clinical supervision, addiction and lots more.

Zaheen started working for Priory Hospital North London as a senior therapist and, since 2020, as the addiction treatment programme lead.

Qualifications

  • Essential Supervision Skills BPS approved

  • Diploma in Counselling and Working with Addiction from Centre for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD), UK.

  • Masters in Clinical Psychology

  • Bachelors in Social Sciences

  • QCF/ NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care
