A patient's story - I am important too
Caroline, a former client at Priory Hospital Ticehurst House, discusses the support she received and the positive impact it’s had on her life.
“What I would say to anybody, who is in the same situation, is that the bravest thing you can do is to seek help from Priory. And they are just the most supportive organisation and group of people that you will ever meet.
“From the very first moment, I could tell that I was going to be OK. Each and every therapist is just amazing; they know their stuff inside out. All of the staff at Priory, from the healthcare assistants to the nurses, to the support staff, to the therapists, consultants, and anybody I’ve missed, they are all not here just to do a job; they’re here because they care for the patients and the people that are here.
“There is never any point when you feel like you’re on your own. They have very much been on this journey with me and they know me inside out, they know what my goals are - they help me set those goals. If you’d have asked me in 2018, I wouldn’t have had any goals, I didn’t know where I was headed, but they’ve helped me through an awful lot in the last few years. And as a result of that, I am now able to be there for my family and to respect myself and realise that I am important too.”
