Support at Lansdowne Road

Before coming to Lansdowne Road, Terry lived with his family members. Unfortunately, when his relatives passed away, he was referred into social care services. He was assessed for a placement at Lansdowne Road, and it was agreed that the service would provide the ideal environment for him.

When Terry arrived at Lansdowne Road, he began to receive one-to-one support from dedicated keyworkers, and tailored care plans were developed in line with his specific needs. This was a really difficult time for Terry, and the team at the home knew that emotional support would be a primary focus of the care provided to him.

To help Terry feel at home at the service, Terry’s support team assisted him in personalising his bedroom. Terry is passionate about Leicester City football club, and so it was fitting that his room has been decorated with merchandise from the club. He settled in really well, and now says one of the best things about Lansdowne Road is his room.

Achieving positive outcomes

Everyone who lives at Lansdowne Road has a personalised activities planner, and are encouraged to take part in activities which are meaningful and enjoyable to them. Terry enjoys accessing the local community on a regular basis, and benefits from the service’s ideal location in the heart of Leicester, near to the town centre and amenities.

Before coming to Lansdowne Road, Terry lacked confidence, and would struggle with his communication. With the support from his core team, Terry has really flourished, and become a much more confident person. He has even secured a job at a local cinema, where he is a cleaner 5 days a week. Recently, Terry was given a raise by his employer, which is a testament to his hard work and commitment to his role.
