Coming to stay in hospital can feel daunting at first, but this type of treatment can be really powerful. It gives you the chance to spend some time away from your day-to-day life and any triggers or influences tat might be making your mental health worse.
You can be assured that the treatment you receive at Priory Hospital Barnt Green is of the highest standards. This is because we’re regularly monitored by our independent regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and benchmarked against the National Service Framework.

Day care is a type of therapeutic treatment that’s tailored to your needs and doesn’t involve you having to spend time living away from home. At Barnt Green, we offer day care packages on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These consist of either a full day (5 hours) or a half day (3 hours) of intensive group therapy for a variety of psychiatric conditions.
Six weeks is the recommended treatment length when it comes to day care, but you’re able to reduce or extend this depending on your individual needs and circumstances. Our professionals can guide you through this.
Available in 2 half or 2 full days per week, our managing anxiety and depression day care package has been designed to support people who are struggling with the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Half of the day will be focused on managing depression (Tuesday) and managing anxiety (Thursday), and during the other half of the day, you’ll participate in a group programme that’s designed to support your overall mental health.
Our managing depression day care package is a 6-week programme, available in 1 full or half day per week. It has been designed to support people who are struggling with the symptoms of depression.
The managing depression package includes elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion focused therapy (CFT) and other integrative styles of therapy. There will also be a mixture of psychoeducation and group reflection throughout the programme, to help you to process your thoughts and experiences, while increasing your understanding of yourself.
Our managing anxiety day care package is a 6-week programme, available in 1 full or half day per week, designed to support people who are struggling with the symptoms of anxiety.
The managing anxiety package includes elements of CBT, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills and other integrative styles of therapy. This package follows a similar structure to the managing depression day care package, but focuses more on what anxiety is, coping strategies for anxiety, and how to ground yourself in moments of severe panic.
