About this location
Kings Road is a supported living service, providing support for four people who have a learning disability or mental health needs. The home is situated just off a main road and is central to a number of amenities.
The property is located in Harrogate, on the east of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We are part of Priory Supported Living North Yorkshire, fall within the North Yorkshire local authority area and the home is managed by the housing provider Encircle.
At Kings Road, we are committed to reflecting the guidance of The Reach Standards in everything we do. This means we work with our tenants to ensure they receive the right support to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

About our service
Our facilities and environment
The property is a Victorian terraced townhouse, split across four floors. There are four self-contained flats with their own bedrooms and bathrooms, one of which is on the ground floor. There is also a staff hub in the property. The accommodation is unsuitable for people with physical disabilities.
Our flats
All of our flats are comfortable, welcoming and can be personalised to individual tastes. Our flats have en-suite facilities, containing either a shower or a bath.
Parking
There is free parking for visitors on the road outside the property.
Our approach to support
Everybody who lives at Kings Road has their own person-centred support plan, which is co-produced with input from the individual, their family members, and professionals.
We aim to enable each tenant to make their own choices about the support they receive. This may include support in a number of areas, such as maintaining a tenancy, personal care, and support with household tasks such as budgeting, shopping and domestic tasks.
Our support approaches at Kings Road include positive behaviour support (PBS) and we can also offer outreach packages. In addition, our team receive specialist staff training, bespoke to the needs of each individual we support. This includes:
- Diabetes management training
- Self-harm training
- Personality disorder training
Activities
Everyone who lives at Kings Road is supported to pursue their own interests and hobbies, both in and outside the home, and are encouraged to take part in activities which are meaningful and fulfilling to them.
We focus on supporting tenants to grow their independence. For some people, this may mean developing their daily living skills within their home. For others, this could be accessing work or educational opportunities in the local community.
We can support our tenants to:
- Attend social activities
- Go shopping
- Enjoy day trips
- Take part in hobbies and interests
- Visit their loved ones
- Go on trips away
