Prospect Hill is a supported living service, offering support for four people who are autistic or have a learning disability, alongside other associated needs.
Prospect Hill is located in the seaside town of Whitby in Yorkshire. The property, which forms part of Priory Supported Living Whitby and Scarborough, falls within the North Yorkshire Council local authority area and is managed by Chrysalis housing provider. The home is situated just off a main road, outside the town centre.
At Prospect Hill, we are committed to reflecting the guidance of The Reach Standards in everything we do. This means we work with our tenants to ensure they receive the right support to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

About our service
Our facilities and environment
Prospect Hill is a large end-of-terrace building, with rooms over three floors. All of the flats have their own bedroom, lounge and open plan kitchen with a fridge, induction oven and hob supplied.
All of the flats have en-suite facilities, including a shower. Flat one also has a wet room and an accessible kitchen worktop.
The service also has a communal utility room, complete with laundry facilities.
Our flats
All of our flats are comfortable, welcoming and can be personalised to individual tastes. Our flats are self-contained and have en-suite facilities, containing a shower or wet room.
Parking
We offer free on-site parking for visitors on our courtyard.
Our approach to support
Everybody who lives at Prospect Hill has their own person-centred support plan, which is co-produced with input from the individual, their family members and professionals.
We aim to enable each tenant to make their own choices about the support they receive. This may include support in a number of areas, such as maintaining a tenancy, personal care, and support with household tasks such as budgeting, shopping and domestic tasks.
Our support approaches at Prospect Hill include positive behaviour support (PBS). In addition, our team receive specialist staff training, bespoke to the needs of each individual we support. This includes:
- Diabetes management training
- PBS training
Activities
Everyone who lives at Prospect Hill is supported to pursue their own interests and hobbies, both in and outside the home, and are encouraged to take part in activities which are meaningful and fulfilling to them.
We focus on supporting tenants to grow their independence. For some people, this may mean developing their daily living skills within their home. For others, this could be accessing work or educational opportunities in the local community.

- Local bowling club
Pathways
Through our network of healthcare, residential and supported living facilities, we provide unique care pathways which enable the people we support to progress towards greater independence. Every individual we support is provided with a bespoke pathway plan, tailored according to their individual needs. We aim to ensure that each person is supported to live a fulfilling and active life in the community.
