About this location
The Oaks is a supported living service, which provides 24-hour support for three adults who are autistic or have a learning disability.
The property is located in the town of Newport in Wales. It forms part of Priory Supported Living South Wales, falls within the Newport City Council local authority area and is managed by Inclusion Housing, the housing provider. We are located on a housing estate down a private drive, off the main road, just a five minute walk from local shops.
At The Oaks, we are committed to reflecting the guidance of The Reach Standards in everything we do. This means we work with our tenants to ensure they receive the right support to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

We aim to enable each tenant to make their own choices about the support they receive. This may include support in a number of areas, such as upkeep of personal care, managing medication, food preparation and cooking, cleaning and laundry, managing finances including budgeting and debt management, how to maintain a tenancy, holding down relationships with family and friends, support with a healthy diet and exercise, and booking and attending health appointments.
In addition, our team receive specialist staff training, bespoke to the needs of each individual we support.
Activities
Tenants at The Oaks are supported to pursue their own interests and hobbies, both in and outside the home, and are encouraged to take part in activities which are meaningful and fulfilling to them.
We focus on supporting tenants to grow their independence. For some people, this may mean developing their daily living skills within their home. For others, this could be accessing work or educational opportunities in the local community.
Activities include:
- Social groups
- Karaoke nights
- Gym
- Swimming
- Cinema
- Bowling
