Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) support
Find out about the care and support we offer to people with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) at Priory.
Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare and complex condition. Priory provides a range of specialist support services that have been specifically developed with the involvement of the people that we support, their families and care professionals.
We recognise that PWS can make everyday life challenging, and the degree of this difficulty will vary between people. This is why we tailor our services to meet the unique needs of everyone we support.
My grandson is happy, his behaviour has improved enormously and he enjoys a very active life with his new-found friends. We can honestly say that this residency at Priory is the very best thing that could have happened to him, and the wonderful staff there have our very deepest gratitude.
We offer 24/7 residential and person-centred care in safe, community settings. We understand that people with PWS have a wide range of needs, with many of the people we support also having a dual diagnosis and/or associated physical disabilities.
Our passionate and engaged teams are highly trained and have extensive experience in supporting adults with PWS. We help the people we support to manage their needs, providing environmental and food security, and promoting as much independence as possible.
In addition, we are committed to working collaboratively with other professionals to make sure the people in our care have the support they need. This includes a holistic approach to weight management.
