At Priory, we pride ourselves on providing a high quality treatment experience for everyone we support. We are dedicated to developing treatment journeys that are tailored to individual needs and structured within National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
We can deliver expert treatment to adults who are struggling with mental health problems, eating disorders and addictions, as well as offering a dedicated private child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS).
Our treatment programmes address our patients' unique difficulties and evaluate mental health challenges in a person-centred way. This enables our specialists to deliver high quality mental health support, helping everyone we support to make a sustainable recovery and achieve the best individual outcomes.
Our nationwide network of expert psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and other healthcare professionals include a range of renowned thought leaders in the field of mental health. Our specialists are committed to remaining up to date with current research, in order to ensure that their practice is guided by the latest thinking, and adheres to NICE guidelines.
At Priory, we offer a range of treatment programmes to our patients, which can either be scaled up or scaled down depending on the nature of your condition and the intensity of the support you need. For more information on each of our treatment programmes, please click on the links below:
We understand that getting help is a big step in your recovery journey and we're here to offer support and guidance the whole way. It can be daunting starting treatment. You may not know what to expect from mental health treatment, or an addiction treatment programme, but we'll prepare you the best we can and provide you with everything you need to recover.
As well as offering a variety of treatment programmes at Priory, we also deliver treatment and therapy in a range of different formats, depending on your needs. For more detailed information on each of our therapy formats, please follow the links below:
We also offer a a number of types of therapy, all of which are evidence-based and can be tailored to your needs.
Therapy will play a huge role in your recovery and wellbeing. At Priory, we have an outstanding team of therapists and counsellors who will be able to teach you valuable coping techniques as well as important life lessons. From preparing you with what to expect from therapy and then preparing you for life after treatment, our therapists, counsellors and range of other experts are here to help you.
Therapists and counsellors both have the same goal of helping you to overcome the challenges you're facing, but they do have their differences.
A therapist will focus on long-term coping strategies that'll help you with your diagnosed conditions and challenges. They'll use psychotherapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) to help you manage your condition in the future.
A counsellor will focus on the here and now, assessing you and your challenges on a day-to-day basis. They'll also use broader techniques, such as humanistic therapy, to get to the root of your problems.
At Priory, we employ highly trained, registered and accredited professionals who uphold strict ethical standards and professional boundaries. Our specialists undergo rigorous screening and comprehensive onboarding processes, ensuring exceptional care, expertise and the highest standards of professional integrity.
We ensure that our specialists have met stringent educational and training standards, and are fully qualified to practise within their specific therapeutic fields, whilst adhering to strict codes of conduct, ethics and continuous professional development (CPD).
In addition, all of our specialists are qualified under a range of professional bodies, including the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). As such, when you receive treatment at Priory, you can be reassured that your care is being provided by knowledgeable and competent professionals, who are held accountable to recognised industry standards.
Priory’s customer service team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure that people in crisis can be signposted to the best possible support, as quickly as possible. The specialist teams at our residential facilities can help to stabilise people in need of immediate assistance, including providing access to medically assisted detoxification for drug and alcohol addictions, where required.
If you're in crisis and need immediate support, our crisis information page has free resources that may be helpful.
Some of our sites are formally recognised medical teaching hospitals. This means that, in addition to operating as fully functional mental health, addiction and eating disorder treatment centres, the hospitals also host medical students on a rotational basis. These students have the opportunity to shadow our specialists, working alongside them and receiving full supervision at all times.
We're proud to be able to contribute to the training of young doctors and assist in the professional development of the mental health experts of the future. Having medical teaching hospitals within our network places us at the forefront of current research, meaning our patients can benefit from leading expertise in the areas of mental health, addictions and eating disorders.
